Im Design der Darbies und ebenfalls mit Schraubverschluß wurde irgendwann auch in der Größe verstellbare Schellen gebaut. Sie sind allerdings nicht verriegelbar.
In the same design and also using the locking mechanism with
the threaded keys at some time the company has also constructed
adjustable cuffs. But these do not yet feature a double lock.

Mit diesen ersten Handschellen im modernen Design ändert wechselt auch der Name von Hiatt zu Hiatts. Diese Schellen auf aus patentrechtichen Gründen noch einen anderen internen Mechanismus als die üblichen Standardhandschellen.
These are the first handcuffs in modern design, and now
the name stamped onto the cuffs changes from Hiatt to Hiatts, too.
For patent reasons these handcuffs use a mechanism different
to that of the usual standard handcuffs.

and locks into the elongated form once unfolded.
