Kapselschellen Eigenbau   Home Made Cup Lock Cuffs

Im folgenden ein paar technische Anmerkungen zu Kapselschellen, die Blacky hergestellt hat. Ich bin ihm dankbar, daß er sich die Mühe gemacht hat, diese Schellen zu bauen und mir dann auch noch die Photos zuzuschicken. Eine sparsam betextete Seite mit weiteren Photos gibt es auch zu sehen. Das linke Photo zeigt diese Replika, wie sie in Wirklichkeit gebaut worden ist. Als Grundlage dienten nur Ausstellungsstücke und ein paar Photos. Das rechte Photo ist eine Bildmanipulation, um meine Vorschläge zur Verbesserung aufzuzeigen. Das kreuzförmige Loch in der Kapsel an die Verdickung heranrücken, soweit es der Klotz am letzten Kettenglied erlaubt. Die Zungen an der Schelle kürzem, damit die Kapsel die Schelle berührt. Das Scharnier sollte nicht ins Innere der Schelle ragen.

The left photo shows how this replica actually has been constructed based only on such items on display and a few photos. The right photo has been modified to show what I would change in the design. The cross-shaped hole in the cup should be moved left as much as the blob on the last chain link does allow. The flaps on the cuff should be shortened, the cup should touch the shackle itself. The hinge should not protrude into the shackle opening.
