Durch die längliche Formgebung werden die Handgelenke
entlang der großen Halbachse ausgerichtet, was nur
bei einer Minderheit an Handschellen zu finden ist.

Man benötigt den rechten Schlüssel sowohl für die Aktivierung als auch das Lösen der Verriegelung, ohne den linken Schlüssel läßt sich die Schellen jedoch nicht weiter stellen oder öffnen. Das Modell mit einem Schlüssel ohne Verriegelung sieht fast genauso aus. Neuerdings gibt es auch ein Modell mit einem Schlüssel und einer per Druckknopf zu aktivierenden Verriegelung. Eine Gelenkhandschelle verwendet ebenso zwei verschiedene Schlüssel. |

something one can only find with a minority of handcuffs.

The right key is needed both for activating and releasing the double lock, but without the key to the left one cannot get the cuff to a wider setting or to open at all. Without double locking the model with one key only looks strikingly similar. Recently a new model with one key only has been introduced with a push-button activated double lock. Some hinged handcuffs also use two different keys. |
